Summer School

I signed Sydney up for Summer School. In the beginning she was pretty mad at me for doing it. She thought she was stupid for having to go. But I have finally convinced her she is not stupid and it is only to help her get better in math and reading.

She has struggled with reading and math all year and a lot of it had to do with her wonderfully "famous" teacher! I'll have to remember to thank her one of these days for the incredible lack of support and lack of caring enough to help a child that she gave Sydney throughout her 3rd grade year!

She starts school on July 7th and its only 3 weeks and its only Mondays - Thursdays from 9:00am - 11am is reading and 11:30am - 1:30pSm is math. Right now in "real" school they have her in Speech to help her with comprehension and we are hoping with these classes she will test out and not have to go anymore. She misses so much when she is out of class and her teacher never let her make up any of what she missed, including class projects.

Our summer plans are really boring! We are doing nothing! We were supposed to go to Sunriver for a few days, but my grandparents decided to put their condo up for sale, so that vacation got squashed! Now we are thinking of just doing some day trips instead...but that's not til August. Tomorrow the weather here is supposed to turn up kinda high..like 90+! Not looking forward to that, unless I am at my parents house and the kids are playing on the Banzai and I am in the hammock getting burned!

So that is my life thus far...nothing too exciting! I have
friends who are awaiting the birth of their baby, friends who just had a baby, friends who are in DisneyWorld right now, family who are in Washington D.C. right now and family who are getting ready to see Donny and Marie in Vegas (yes that is my mom going to see her main man!), oh and family getting ready for yet another Hawaiian vacation and my family is not invited (but everyone else is going with them). So boo-hoo to me! But that is ok because I won't be spending all that $$!! My money will just be going to gas and that's ok!

So I guess I had a little tantrum, but I am entitled to one now and again...why not when my son is upstairs having his own tantrum! They can be fun sometimes and now I am just rambling!

It's ok we are all entitled to a tantrum. Tell Sydney that summer school is much better than having to repeat a grade. I am not looking forward to the weather this weekend either, thank goodness for AC. I do plan on laying out and getting tan or should I say burnt. We need to get together this summer!!!!

You are so funny, Jill. I have something fun for you to do this summer: how about hanging out with me in a couple of weeks? (I know, you were hoping I would say that!) We are coming to visit July 15th-24th. It would be fun to get the kids together-we could even find a hammock for you! =)
